SEPTEMBER

Barb welcomed everyone to the meeting
Review of agenda - To add : Yearly Draw and B.I.A. Involvement
Review of minutes August 4th meeting - Location of gate to be blocked off - change from Burnbrae to County Road 8 - approved as corrected
Trail Head Signs
Questions were put to David Bree re: prices of signs and mounting.
Signs to cost $4,068.55 ($3,600.49 + HST of 468.55)
This does not include mounting.
There is approx. $5,000. in our account (after Boardwalk money removed)
If we stopped everything, the proofs would cost us $600.00, and we will own
Could get someone else to make.
If we use Plexiglas the cost would be $250.00 to $300.00
If we dropped one sign and ordered 2 it would cost $900.00 plus tax and installation
Health for Life logo to be on signs
Wood can be used to mount signs
Al Graham made a motion and Fred Ellis seconded, all carried that we should
go ahead with the less expensive (Vinyl) sign using Plexiglas
The second chimney swift sign was ordered, approx. $500.00 plus HST - the design
costs were waived for 2nd sign
The mounting of the chimney swift tower signs to be out of steel. Ontario Parks
to cover cost.

Boardwalk
$l,657.92 in bank for boardwalk
Laura (Ontario Parks) would like to be involved. Fred to contact Laura re: planning
the next section Environmental assessment done.

Merchandise
12 ball caps are in, $18.95 plus tax - selling for $21.50
12 T. shirts came in with the wrong date, and were sent back for correction
- $21.95 plus tax, selling for $25.00
We pay for items as they are sold, Barb to keep inventory. 1 ball cap sold.
Staff at gate house selling shirts for us, only 6 suspension bridge shirt left.

Approx. $1,200.00 worth of Friends of Ferris golf shirts left
Winter ski/snowshoe

Al reported wanting to expand ski trail along old roadway - concerned if there
would be enough snow . David had environmental concerns. Decided to have skiers
try it this year, but we are not to clear too much brush.

Carol reported Sharpes supplied too much food, we could cut back for 2011

fliers and taking tent down and the four volunteers for helping the 2 days of
with set up, food etc. including Barb and Bob.
To look at an evaluation sheet for next year for this project with John.
To have 50 cards with envelopes (paintings of dry stone walls) Linda Stydom’s
sister at a cost of $20.00. To sell 3 in package
Motion made by Al and seconded by Rose to have these printed, Carried
Lisa at Perfect Print to print picture of dry stone walls (8 ½ x 11)
to be put in Grind House Café

Sprague - September 13 at 3 pm
Terry has walking group of approx. 30 people signed up.

donation only

Fred & Carol helped Park staff install 1 kiosk at Valleyview comfort station
and 1 at Bedrock comfort stn. #1

Al asked who is responsible for lawnmower maintenance - Tom says Ontario Parks
will maintain, and will let Nick know.
