The Friends of Ferris is an energetic, non-profit group of volunteers who
are hard at work, constantly bringing to Ferris special events and promotions
unique to our Provincial Park! We are part of a growing network of co-operating
associations across Ontario.They
assist in the maintenance of trails, trail markers and even installed trail benches
for you to sit and enjoy the quiet moments at Ferris. A major project undertaken
by the Friends was in partnership with the Campbellford Rotary Club. A new picnic
shelter was built entirely with volunteers and today family gatherings, company
picnics and special events in the Park all benefit from this structure. Another
recent improvement is the purchase and installation of playground equipment much
to the delight of young campers.

the Ranney Gorge Suspension

We have a detailed geographical

Most recently, the Friends have begun working on refurbishing the Park
Office. The Office is used to host displays during special
events held in the Park. The Friends of Ferris plan to provide campers
with an Interpretive Display, providing young and old with something educational,
or just pure fun!
The Friends of Ferris is a registered Canadian Charitable Trust. Originally
formed in 1994, they received charitable status in 1996, and adopted a
mandate. Please join us by sharing your time, talents and expertise while
making new friends, getting some fresh air and having some down-to-earth
good fun!!
Friends of Ferris is
supporting UN's International Year of Water Cooperation.
World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention
on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management
of freshwater resources. http://www.worldwaterday.org.
In December 2010, the United Nations General Assembly declared 2013 as
the United
Nations International Year of Water Cooperation. The objective of the
year is to raise awareness
of the potential for, and value of increased cooperation in relation to
water.
Friends of Ferris will support and incorporate this vision into their
2013 activities!

a member of the Friends of Ferris, you will be making a valuable contribution
to a very special place.
