Review of Agenda

Approval of minutes of last Annual General Meeting - November 18, 2009
Motion made by Rose and seconded by Doreen, carried.

Approval of financial statements/budget - attached

Election of Board of Directors
-Consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and up to 5 additional members
-List of directors - Barb Hogan, John Knox, Carol Robertson, Rose Odell, Gerhart Marsinski,
Sandy Chapman
Moved by Rose and seconded by Al, approved
Positions to be decided at next meeting.

- Please forward volunteer hours to Barb as soon as possible.

Review 2010 Acknowledgements

Membership - 41 members for 2010

2009/2010 Ski Season
-not a lot of advertising was done for the ski season. Had some great ideas come from 2009 AGM
-conditions were not the best with mild temperatures

Aron Cinema

Trillium Walk
-Rose Odell, Doreen Sharpe, Donna Wilson David Bree, Fred and Carole Ellis, John Knox, Carol Robertson, Marlaine Bennett
-Art contest for students, Bennetts Home Furnishings for posting art

Kite Day
-Fred and Carole Ellis, Tai Chi Group and many volunteers, Gerhart for coffee
-Not just day of event but ongoing presentations to various schools and groups
-Looking for someone/group to take over the food venue

Chimney Swift Tower
-Campbellford Wood Working Club
-Installed on June 2010

Chimney Swift Signage
-David Bree, Tom Mates frames
-$599.85 for first sign. Completed and in Friends of Ferris shed. Tom said he has some cement for base.
-$440.70 for second sign. Cheque has been sent.

Stone Wall Restoration
-John Shaw Rimmington and crew Carol Robertson, Rose Odell, Bev Meyers, Linda Strydom, Cathie Stewart, Bonnie Nabb, Donna McComb, Bob Hogan. And Gerhard Marzinski for great coffee, Marlaine Bennett, posters.
-Betty Wickman from Sharpe’s for great lasagna and lunch assistance.

Walk with Terry Sprague
-approx. 32 in attendance, Bob Hogan, Carol Robertson, Fred and Carole Ellis, Rose Odell
-flashlight and small knapsack as draw prize

Trail Fest
-Graham Wilson, Fred Ellis, Bob Hogan, Rose Odell, Carol Robertson, Al Graham
-Approx. 36 in attendance. Very well received. Large knapsack as draw prize.
-Graham Wilson given tickets to Yuk Yuks.

Benches
-Installing three new ones - Fred Ellis, Bob Hogan, Al Graham, and Nick Borton (14 fire pits)

Trail Maintenance
-Grass cutting Al Graham and Bob Hogan. Al checking trails, dealing with Independent on maps!!! (that they got wrong)
-Fred Ellis walking trails with Laura Cob, Park staff, to assist in her making trail assessments.
-Helping to trim camp site areas/brush

Trail Maps
-Al Graham and David Bree updates, Al making sure kiosks always have information

New Trail Head Signs
-Al Graham, David Bree and the entire board for coming together so this project could become a reality
-$1,259.95 cheque has been mailed (3 x 5 styrene, laminated) to cover with Plexiglas (3 x 5) with air holes

Flower Brochures
-David Bree and Rose Odell
-Spring Flower Brochure and Summer/Fall Flower brochure
$.60 per sheet

Park Merchandise
-all Suspension Bridge T-shirts have been sold (Thanks to Ontario Parks selling at front gate)
-11 Ontario Parks baseball caps (Cost %8.50 + tax, Selling at $20.00
-24 Ontario Parks T-shirts (Cost $10.50 + tax, Selling at $25.00)
-58 Friends of Ferris Golf Shirts (Cost$19.20, Selling at $25.00)

Ontario Parks
-Tom thanked the Friends for the work they have done in the park - a tremendous help
-Ontario Parks has received money for historical heritage signs, which must be spent by the end of March, 2011. This could include the dry stone walls, sheep wash area, & original front gate. Signage to include text and photos to a total of $5,000.00
It would be good if they were the same type as the Town
Permission will be needed from Town. Rose to check and report back at Nov. meeting
-Tabloid articles to be submitted by mid November
-20 more electrical sites have been put into the capital budget, along with an air conditioner for the office.
-Planning to open the office as a park store with a student position.
